BLOG Introduction

Welcome to the Scalar Performance Blog: No Secrets, Just Solutions

Let’s cut to it — I’m tired of knowledge hoarding.

Over the last few years building race cars, custom EVs, and working with everything from ECUMaster PMUs to CAN bus trickery and obscure OEM modules, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve hit a wall. Bad documentation. Half-finished forum threads. People acting like their wiring diagram is classified military intel. And when you do find someone who figured it out? They hint at the solution without actually sharing it. Like it’s some kind of flex.

So here’s the deal: I’m not doing that.

This blog is where I’ll share the real stuff — the actual working configs, the weird CAN messages I’ve reverse engineered, and the oddball problems I’ve solved (and occasionally caused). If you want to know how to get a Volvo electric power steering pump to play nice with your ECUMaster PMU over CAN, I’ll show you how. If I built a bracket in CAD, you can have the file. If I found a smarter way to do something dumb, it’s yours.

This isn’t just about being helpful. It’s also strategic. I came from the cybersecurity world, where we learned early on that sharing doesn’t hurt your business — it proves you know what the hell you’re doing. It builds community. It attracts the right kind of people. It raises the bar for everyone.

And selfishly? I want this stuff to be easier to find next time I go looking.

So whether you’re building a time attack car, wiring up your first PMU, or just like nerding out over CAN bus, welcome. No gatekeeping. No fluff. Just real-world solutions from the shop floor.

Let’s raise the tide.
